Great article! Thanks for highlighting the importance of non-partisanship in the Canadian political process. It reminds me of something Francis Fukuyama highlighted in his history of political order - that a central feature of the modern state is the existence of a civil service whose ability to A) do their jobs and B) maintain public trust is completely independent of who is or is not in power at the top (or as completely as possible). It isn’t a knock at partisanship to say that some things need to be kept sacred from it.
